About the Actual Aircraft
The EA-18G Growler was developed by the U.S. Navy as a successor to the Grumman EA-6B Prowler and has been in service since 2009. This electronic warfare aircraft, based on the F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter, has a crew of two: the pilot and a Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) in the rear seat.
It is equipped with advanced electronic warfare equipment, including the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System and the ALQ-227 Communications Jamming System.
It is powered by two General Electric F414-GE-400 turbofan engines. It achieves a top speed of nearly Mach 1.8. It is operated by both the U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force, with over 170 aircraft reportedly produced.
About the Product
This is a plastic model assembly kit depicting the EA-18G Growler, a U.S. Navy electronic warfare aircraft that has been in service since 2009.
It features Italeri parts and is 1/48 scale. The finished overall length is 381mm. Its
impressive size and distinctive form are accurately modeled.
This kit also includes metal AOA probes that can be attached to both sides of the nose.
Their sharp finish enhances the aircraft's detail and creates a realistic finish.
The metal parts are manufactured by Master. The combination of resin base parts and metal parts achieves delicate expression.
Of course, this kit also offers the level of buildability you expect from a 1/48 scale model, with the aircraft shape, tandem cockpit, landing gear, and landing gear storage compartments. A
dedicated masking sheet is also included for convenient painting of the canopy frame. This allows for easy, precise painting of the canopy, enhancing the quality of the finish.
The marking decals are made by high-quality Cartograf.
