Description

      Hamakaze was commissioned in June 1941 as the 13th ship of the Kagerō-class destroyers. In the Battle of Cape Bōsō during Operation Ten-Go in April 1945, she was heavily damaged and sunk by an attack from aircraft of the US Navy task force. Survivors were rescued by Fuyutsuki, Hatsushimo, and Yukikaze.
