Description

The legendary battleship "Mikasa" is now available as a waterline model kit! Completed in March 1902, it became the flagship of the Combined Fleet in December of the following year and fought in the Russo-Japanese War under the command of Admiral Togo Heihachiro. In the Battle of Tsushima, it led Japan to victory with the T-crossing tactic and the Togo Turn. The kit is based on materials from the 1/350 development stage and incorporates the latest research that has come to light since then. The hull is assembled using a structure that sandwiches the girders. The deck and flying deck reproduce the camber designed to improve water drainage. The armament, ventilation shafts, and fighting tops can be selected to represent the ship as it appeared during the Battle of Tsushima or the Battle of the Yellow Sea. The package illustration is by Tankuro Kato.
