Description

      The Ling Temco-Vought A-7A Corsair II was a carrier-based attack aircraft developed as a successor to the A-4 Skyhawk. To reduce development time and costs, the design philosophy of the company's F-8 Crusader carrier-based fighter was utilized, and some parts were also used. The A model was the first production model and was deployed to operational units in September 1967. Subsequently, the B, C, and E models were developed, with the final aircraft for the Navy rolling out in May 1971.
