Description

      The Sikorsky HH-60D Nighthawk was developed for the U.S. Air Force as a CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) helicopter, based on the U.S. Army's UH-60A Black Hawk . Unlike conventional combat rescue helicopters , the HH-60D, tasked with independent rescue operations in combat zones , can perform rescue operations for friendly pilots in all weather conditions and without friendly escort. Therefore, it can be equipped with air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles, machine guns, and other self-defense armaments. Furthermore, it is equipped with aerial refueling systems, large external fuel tanks, infrared night vision devices, and terrain following/obstacle-avoidance radar.
