Description
The Ling Temco-Voight A-7A Corsair II is a carrier-based attack aircraft developed as a successor to the A-4 Skyhawk. To reduce development time and costs, the design philosophy of the company's F-8 Crusader carrier-based fighter was utilized, and some of its components were also used.
The A model was the first mass-produced version, deployed to combat units in September 1967. Subsequently, it evolved into the B, C, and E models, with the final aircraft for the Navy rolling out in May 1971.
