The set comprises two flat-shaped 200 US gal external fuel tanks and their attachment lugs. These tanks were usually used in pairs under the wings of the P-47, fitted to B-10 shackles that were typical for this tank installation. It was also possible to have the P-47 fitted with only one such tank, this time under a B-7 shackle on the centreline. However, on rare occasions the P-47 was also seen carrying the tanks in all three positions.
