About the Actual Aircraft
The F-15 Eagle, a U.S. Air Force fighter jet, remains the world's most powerful air superiority fighter. It first flew in 1972, entered service in 1976, and remains a globally recognized fighter jet in active service. The F-15C is the most widely produced of these aircraft.
Featuring a clipped delta wing and two vertical tails, it is powered by two Pratt & Whitney F100 turbofan engines. It boasts high speeds exceeding Mach 2, acceleration, and maneuverability. It is also equipped with an electronic warfare system and can carry a variety of missiles, including the AIM-120 air-to-air missile. It boasts exceptional capabilities as a high-speed, highly maneuverable air superiority fighter. The 44th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, nicknamed "Vampire Bats," deployed from Kadena Air Base, Japan, to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, in 2020. The F-15C is also operated by the F-15C.
Each aircraft in this fleet is known for its unique nose art.
