About the Actual Aircraft

Developed as a successor to the postwar masterpiece, the F-86 Sabre, the F-100 Super Sabre made its first flight in 1953.

It successfully broke the sound barrier in level flight, becoming the world's first practical supersonic fighter.

It was powered by a single Pratt & Whitney J57 turbojet engine, achieving a maximum speed of Mach 1.3. Its fixed armament consisted of four M39 20mm engines. It was capable of carrying and carrying missiles such as Sidewinder and Bullpup missiles, as well as nuclear bombs.

The F-100, an air superiority fighter, was later developed into a fighter-bomber model in response to military requirements. The C and D models were developed with additional hardpoints to increase weapons capacity and improve range. The D model first flew in 1956. In the 1960s, it was deployed in the Vietnam War as a ground attack aircraft.

About the Product

This plastic model assembly kit recreates the F-100D, a fighter-bomber variant of the F-100 Super Sabre, the world's first practical supersonic fighter, which debuted in 1956.

The finished kit measures approximately 10cm long and 8cm wide, and features easy-to-assemble parts from F-Toys. This set includes two aircraft.

The aircraft's slim fuselage with a nose-mounted air intake and swept-back wings are accurately modeled, even down to the panel lines.

Details such as the refueling probe and long pitot tubes are also meticulously recreated. The landing gear and other features are also recreated to create a mechanically realistic finish.

Two types of markings are included: the "Triple Zero" aircraft flown by Colonel Raymond Tolliver, commander of the 20th Tactical Fighter Wing deployed to the UK in 1957, and the aircraft flown by Major General Don Schmenk of the 308th Fighter Squadron, 31st Fighter Wing, in 1969, sporting a striking camouflage paint scheme during the Vietnam War.

The combination of silver and camouflage, a color scheme unique to the Century Series, is representative of the F-100, and we're looking forward to seeing it completed.
