About the Actual Aircraft
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a U.S. military close air support and ground attack aircraft that entered service in 1977. It features twin engines and a straight wing design. Eleven hardpoints on the underside of the wings and fuselage allow it to carry a 7,260 kg load of bombs, rockets, and missiles. It also features a GAU-8/A Avenger autocannon in the nose, providing exceptional offensive capabilities. It has continued to be improved since its deployment, and the A-10C, introduced in 2005, is a modified A-model with a glass cockpit. It participated in the 1991 Gulf War. It continues to serve in U.S. state air forces and continues to serve in active duty.

This kit features Italeri parts and Platz's Japanese assembly instructions, ensuring safe and enjoyable assembly.
With a finished length of 338mm, the aircraft's distinctive form, featuring a straight wing and two engines mounted on its back, is powerfully reproduced. Not only the aircraft shape but also the panel lines are realistically depicted.
Some inspection panels can be assembled open or closed. The kit also includes a masking sheet for easy painting of the canopy frame.
The markings reproduce the commemorative paint scheme used on the aircraft, which was painted in 2021 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 104th Fighter Squadron, established in June 1921 as the 104th Observation Squadron of the Maryland Air National Guard. The retro paint scheme is reminiscent of the 1930s.
