About the Actual Aircraft
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a U.S. military close air support and ground attack aircraft that entered service in 1977. It features twin engines and a straight wing design. Eleven hard points on the underside of the wings and fuselage allow it to carry 7,260 kg of ordnance, and it is equipped with a GAU-8/A Avenger autocannon in the nose, providing excellent offensive capabilities.
The A-10C, introduced in 2005, features a glass cockpit. It saw combat in the Gulf War and continues to serve in U.S. state air forces.
