A total of 24 Fubuki-class (special type) destroyers were built, divided into three types: Type I, Type II, and Type III, and Hibiki was one of the four Type III ships and commissioned in 1933 (Showa 8). Although
damaged three times during the war, the ship survived and was used as a repatriation transport after the war, before being handed over to the Soviet Union as a reparation ship.
